I Worked Out Yesterday… Why Does EVERYTHING Hurt?

September 3, 2026

🏋️ I Worked Out Yesterday… Why Does EVERYTHING Hurt?

You felt great yesterday.

Today? Your legs hurt. Your back hurts. Your arms hurt. Somehow even sitting down hurts. 😂

If you’re sore after a workout, you may be experiencing DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness). It often shows up 12–48 hours after exercise, especially when you try a new workout, increase your intensity, or use muscles you haven’t used in a while.

So… should you just suffer? 😅

Not necessarily!

Gentle movement, stretching, hydration, rest, and gradually getting back into your routine can help. Physical therapy can also help if soreness keeps turning into pain or you’re dealing with an actual injury.

🚨 Sore or injured?

Normal muscle soreness usually improves with time.

If you have sharp pain, significant swelling, weakness, numbness, or pain that isn’t getting better, it may be more than ordinary post-workout soreness.

Not sure what’s going on? Let Advanced Orthopedics & Physical Therapy help you figure it out.
